Traditional Korean Ginger Tea
[Ssanghwa Tea Room] Korean Ginger Tea (Saenggang-cha)
Ginger tea - pronounced "Saeng-gang-cha" (생강차) - has a long history in traditional Korean herbal medicine.
It's been used for centuries in Korea to:
Today, we introduce a traditional Ginger Tea from Ssanghwa Tea Room.
We selected this brand as it tastes amazing and it's locally made in Yangpyeong County (not mass-produced in a factory).
Importantly, this ginger tea is not overly-spicy!
The tea powder includes granules of natural honey (mixed at ratio of 85% Ginger, 15% Honey).
And it can be enjoyed by anyone in the family, including young children.
Take a close look and you'll notice that the tea is made of granules (not powder) - these granules pack a more concentrated flavor.
How are the granules made?
Korean ginger and honey are each boiled separately into a concentrated essence. The liquid extract is then dehydrated into solid form. Then grated into small, granules.
How do I make this tea?
Place 1 spoonful (measuring cup provided) of the mixture into a mug. Then pour-in ~2/3 cup of hot water. Then add more water if it tastes too strong.
We like to add-in a drizzle of honey as well - but that’s up to you.
If you’re looking for a healthy tea to drink after meals, consider a cup of soothing Korean Ginger Tea.

Korean Ginger Tea
Made with locally-grown, Korean Ginger
Premium-grade ginger is grown and harvested during peak season in Seosan County, Korea.
It has a much deeper & aromatic taste than powder-based teas!
Tea mixture comes in small-sized, granular droplets - dissolves instantly in water!
How are the droplets made?
Premium-grade ginger and honey are each boiled into an essence liquid - then completely dehydrated and finely grated into granular droplets
These droplets release a deeper flavor (than powder) when dissolved
To make traditional Korean Ginger Tea, simply mix a spoonful with hot water.
If made with 100% ginger, the drink will taste too spicy...
That's why our Ginger Tea is mixed with 15% natural honey.
Our ginger tea is not overly spicy - gentle enough to be enjoyed by the whole family!
If you want it sweeter, add in a drizzle of raw honey as well (add to taste)
1. Use the measuring spoon (that's included) and pour-in one spoonful into a cup
2. Then add 2/3 cup of boiling water (add more if too strong).
3. Drizzle-in a touch of honey into the tea (optional, but recommended)
4. Taste it - add more water if it's too strong
