[Kisoondo] Traditional Gochujang

Today, we introduce one of our best-selling, artisan-made Gochujang!

This is Kisoondo's Traditional Gochujang.

Unlike factory-made gochujang, this paste is made with only natural ingredients:

Full Ingredients List: Glutinous Rice (35%), Gochugaru (25%), Meju Powder (20%), Raosted Bamboo Salt (10%), Soy Sauce (5%), Malt Barley (5%)

In Spring, barley is harvested and malted. In Summer, soybean and glutinous rice are fermented and turned into meju powder. In Winter, all of the ingredients are brought together, and mixed with gochugaru.

The gochujang is then left to rest and ferment in large Korean Hanggari pots for 6 months.

The dedication to each ingredient is Kisoondo's secret to making one of Korea's best gochujang!

This gochujang has a deep, piquant spice with a slightly-earthy sweetness.

It contains no preservatives, additives, refined sugar or MSG.

If you want to try an all-natural, traditional Gochujang, this is it!

Available in 3 sizes: 230g, 320g & 500g

Thoroughly enjoying this Gochujang

As an epicure and a firm believer in healthy food including naturally fermented foods, I searched for a long time to find a traditional gochujang that is free from chemicals, additives, etc.

Coincidentally, I found Kisoondo Traditional online and so wished I could find it in Canada! However, no luck. That’s how I eventually decided to order it directly from South Korea.

I am absolutely delighted with this gochujang. It feels so pure and has a wonderful umami taste with a little kick of spiciness which we love!

The only thing I wish for that even the smaller size would be available in a glass jar instead of plastic.

Thank you for preserving the traditional method of making gochujang and I hope one day your products will be easily available around the world!

Things happen

Very well packaged, no chance of fracture, but the foil that seals in the paste had come off and the paste was all over the bottle. But half a bottle is better than none I guess
