Korea's Top-Selling Perilla Oil
[Beksul] 100% Toasted Perilla Oil
Beksul's 100% Toasted Perilla Oil is one of the Best-Selling Perilla Oils in Korea.
It's made from 100% Perilla Seeds. Beksul toasts its perilla seeds at a lower temperature to retain more nutrition in the oil. The oil has a deep, nutty aroma which works beautifully with Bibimbap, namul banchans, and even fried eggs. Best of all, this bottle is 300ml - which is larger than most. A good price, given its size!
Many homecooks use perilla oil as a substitute to sesame oil. It has very high amounts of Omega-3 (ALA) - more so than any other seed-based oils! If you want to try perilla oil, this is a good product to start with.
Note: Beksul procures its perilla seeds from China. The perilla seeds are then toasted and pressed into oil in Korea.
Note: This is toasted perilla oil - which is what is typically used for Korean cooking. For untoasted, cold-pressed oil, click here.

Is Perilla Oil Healthy?
Yes - Perilla oil has a very high omega-3 fatty acid content (more than 50 percent fatty acid). That's more than any other seed-based oil! To be specific, the omega-3 content in perilla oil is Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA), which can be found in flaxseed and fish oil.
Perilla oil also contains the vital omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. These polyunsaturated fatty acids are beneficial to your health — especially for normal immune system functioning — and have been linked to improving memory-related conditions.
The perilla seeds are from China.
