[Chef Baek] All Purpose Jajangmyeon Sauce
This is a new product released by Chef Baek Jong Won.
Chef Baek Jong Won is a mega-celebrity chef in Korea and the founder of Korea's largest Jajangmyeon franchise, Hong Kong Ban Jeom. His restaurant is one of our Top 3 go-to spots in Seoul for a bowl of Jajangmyeon. Their sauce is nutty and savory, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Now you can replicate this restaurant flavor at home! Chef Baek's Jajanmyeon sauce is made with aged chunjang paste. It's stir-fried in oil with diced spring onions. Then cooked and reduced with onions, minced pork and other fresh ingredients. All of the flavor from these classic ingredients are infused into this Jajangmyeon sauce.
With Chef Baek's sauce, you can make Jajangmyeon in under 15 minutes. He has also created an easy-to-follow Youtube recipe video (show below). Furthermore, you can use this sauce to make other Jajang dishes like Jajang Tteokbokki, Jajang Chicken and more.

NOTE: THIS VIDEO RECIPE IS NOT USING STANDARD CUP MEASUREMENT
This video recipe does not use standard measurements of 1 cup = 250 ml
Instead, they use a small disposable cup - which is ubiquitous in Korea for instant coffee (1 disposable cup = 180ml)
So we have re-written the directions using a standard cup measurement (1 standard cup = 250 ml)
COOKING DIRECTIONS (STD. CUP MEASUREMENTS)
1. Dice veggies into bite-sized chunks: cabbage (1 cups worth), zucchini (1 cup), onions (1 cup), spring onions (1/2 cup)
2. Put cooking oil (2 Tablespoons) into a frying pan. Place on medium-heat.
3. Once the pan is hot, place the diced spring onions (1/2 cup) in. Stir it around
4. Once the spring onion starts to sizzle in the oil, add in the Jajangmyeon Sauce (1/2 cup).
5. Then add in some water (6 Tablespoons). Mix the sauce around.
6. Then add in the diced onions (1 cup), zucchini (1 cup) and cabbage (1 cup).
7. Cook everything for a few minutes or until veggies turn soft. Turn off the heat.
8. Boil noodles and drain. Then place into a serving bowl.
9. Pour the Jajangmyeon Sauce over the noodles. Garnish with fews slices of cucumber.
