Organic Certified, 100% Korean Chili Peppers
[Haedam Jib] Organic Korean Gochugaru (500g)
- Certified organic
- 100% Yeongyang chilies
- 3 spice levels
- 3 grinds
Today, we introduce a gochugaru that checks all the boxes: certified organic, 100% Korea-grown chili peppers from Yeongyang County, a bright red color and a deep, traditional spicy Korean flavor.
Haedam Jib Organic Gochugaru (해담는집 유기농 고춧가루) is made by the married couple Jeong Chang-dong and Lee Hae-seon, who returned to farming in Yeongyang in 2004 to grow organic chili peppers. Their farm is certified organic by the Woori Agricultural Certification Center (farm no. 16100465), and the bag carries both Korean organic marks: 유기농 for the peppers and 유기가공식품 for the finished powder.
Organic farming means no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Instead, the couple relies on organic matter, beneficial microorganisms and natural materials to grow their chilies.
The peppers grow at the far end of Geummarae Valley in Ilwol-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, North Gyeongsang. Big swings between day and night temperatures thicken the skins, boost the sweetness and give them a beautiful deep red. To keep that color and their natural spicy flavor, the peppers are dried slowly at a low 50 °C for 4 to 5 days instead of in a hot industrial dryer.
We love that this producer lets you choose the heat and the grind, a bit like choosing coffee. Spice levels: Less Spicy (2/5), Normal Spicy (3/5, recommended) or Very Spicy (4/5). Grinds: Normal Coarseness for kimchi and everyday Korean recipes (recommended), Finely Ground (고운양념용) for soups and stews when you want the deep red color and heat without visible flakes, or Very Finely Ground (고추장용), ground as fine as flour for making gochujang paste at home.
If you've been searching for an organic, Korea-grown gochugaru for kimchi and all your favorite spicy Korean recipes, this is it.

Family-Operated Organic Farm in Yeongyang, Since 2004
We are Jeong Chang-dong and Lee Hae-seon, and we have grown organic chili peppers in Yeongyang, North Gyeongsang, since 2004.
With more and more imported produce on the shelves, our goal is simple: grow safe, honest food we're happy to serve our own family and children.
Our gochugaru is certified organic and made only from red chili peppers grown in Korea. They come from Geummarae Valley, where wide day-night temperature swings give the peppers thick skins, natural sweetness and a vivid red color.
We dry them slowly at a low 50 °C to keep that deep red and bold, spicy flavor, and you can choose from 3 spice levels and 3 grinds.

Certified Organic Korean Gochugaru
Made only with chili peppers grown in Yeongyang-gun, Korea.
Our farm is certified organic by the Woori Agricultural Certification Center (우리농인증원) under Korea's national organic program, certification no. 16100465. The bag carries both Korean organic marks: 유기농 (organic produce) for the peppers and 유기가공식품 (organic processed food) for the finished powder.
Organic farming means no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or synthetic substances. Instead, we feed our crops with natural materials, organic matter, beneficial microorganisms and mineral-rich soil, for the purest flavor, color and nutrition.

Our Chili Farm in Geummarae Valley
Our farm sits at the far end of Geummarae Valley in Ilwol-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, North Gyeongsang, a region with ideal soil and climate for growing premium chili peppers.

Signature Deep-Red Chili Peppers
Thanks to the valley's sharp day-night temperature shifts, our peppers grow thicker skins, more sweetness and their signature deep-red color.

Picked by Hand
Each chili pepper is hand-picked with care, so only the best go into the bag.

Our Harvesting Process
We harvest only fully ripe chili peppers, never underripe ones. Picked at their peak, they need no further ripening.
After harvest, every pepper is cleaned three times: twice by hand and once more by machine.

Our Drying Process
After washing, the peppers are dried at a gentle 50 °C, which locks in their vivid red color and bold flavor.

Slow, Low-Temperature Drying
Because we dry at a low temperature, it takes about 4 to 5 days. This slow method keeps the peppers' natural flavor and color.
"Steamed" peppers, by contrast, are dried above 60 °C. It's faster, but it can cost quality.

Take a Look
Dried low and slow, the peppers keep their natural color, aroma and flavor.

The Details Matter
Many producers cut the stem just below the green cap to keep the seeds from spilling out (inset, right).
We remove the entire green stem instead (inset, left), for a cleaner, smoother flavor.

Rich, Piquant and Full of Flavor
True Korean gochugaru, the way it should taste.
