Shipping & tracking

Which carriers do you use?

Korea Post and FedEx. Once your parcel reaches your country, your local postal service delivers it. You can follow it any time on our tracking page.

How much is shipping?

A flat $5 to any country, and free when your order has two or more items.

When does my order leave Korea?

Typically within 1–3 business days of your order. If something is out of stock, we’ll email you with the expected delay.

Where do I find my tracking number?

In the shipping confirmation email we send when your order leaves. It often lands in spam, so check there first.

I only got one parcel. Where’s the rest?

Larger orders ship in several boxes, each with its own tracking number, so check your email for all of them. Splitting keeps shipping costs down (large boxes are charged by size) and helps parcels clear your country's customs faster.

How do I track my parcel?

Pop your tracking number into our tracking page. It works for Korea Post numbers (like “LK123456789KR”) and FedEx numbers.

My tracking hasn’t updated in a while. What’s going on?

That's usually normal. Once your parcel reaches your country, your local postal service takes over the updates, and holidays, bad weather or backlogs can pause them. Sometimes they all appear at once. If nothing has changed in 3 weeks, email us.

I made a typo in my shipping address.

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, update the address in My Account and email us too. If it has shipped, we can’t reroute it — contact your local post office with the tracking number and ask about correcting the address.

My parcel was returned to Korea. What now?

We can reship it once the new postage is paid, or give you a partial refund. For a partial refund, the postage already paid is deducted and food items can’t be refunded.

Refunds & exchanges

What’s your refund policy?

Full refund if your parcel is lost in transit or arrives damaged. Partial refund if delivery fails and the parcel returns to Korea: we deduct the postage already paid, and food items aren’t refundable (non-food items can be restocked and refunded). You can also ask us to reship a returned parcel once the postage is paid.

When can’t you offer a refund or exchange?

We can’t refund or exchange if: you’ve changed your mind (size, colour, etc.); the product was damaged through use or handling; only the outer box has cosmetic damage and the product is fine; you refused delivery, or refused to pay customs fees, VAT or similar, and the parcel came back; or Customs opened the parcel and it’s reported as damaged.

My product arrived damaged. What should I do?

We inspect everything before it ships, but things can get damaged in transit. Email daniel@gochujar.com within 10 days of delivery with photos or video, and keep the item and packaging until we’ve sorted it out. If it was clearly damaged in shipping, we’ll refund you in full or send a replacement. We may ask you to send the damaged item back first; if we do, we’ll cover the return postage. We can’t help if more than 10 days have passed, there’s no photo or video, the product has clearly been used, Customs opened it for inspection, or our assessment finds it wasn’t damaged in shipping or defective. A note on fermented foods: gochujang, doenjang and liquid extracts can seep slightly from the lid because of air-pressure changes during the flight. This isn’t considered damage and isn’t eligible for a refund or exchange.

I got the wrong item, or something is missing. What should I do?

Email daniel@gochujar.com within 10 days of delivery with your order number, a photo of everything you received and a photo of the shipping label. We’ll ship you the correct or missing item at no cost. If it’s out of stock, we’ll refund it instead.

My parcel seems lost. What happens next?

If your tracker hasn't updated in 3 weeks, email us and we'll open a trace with Korea Post. If it's confirmed lost, you'll get a full refund. Lost parcels are rare. Usually it's waiting at customs or your local post office.

My parcel is late. Can I get a refund?

We can't refund for delays. Delivery estimates come from Korea Post and most parcels arrive on time, but the last stretch depends on customs in your country and your local post office, which neither Korea Post nor we control.

My order was held by Customs. Can I get a refund?

We can’t refund products that Customs seizes, refuses or sends back to Korea.

Will I pay import tax or extra fees?

EU orders: no. We pay the EU import VAT for you through IOSS, so there’s nothing extra to pay on delivery (for orders up to €150). Other countries may charge import duties, VAT, GST or customs fees when your parcel arrives. These are set by your country, not by us, and are the customer’s responsibility. We fill in customs forms carefully to keep delays and extra charges to a minimum.

Can you refuse service?

Yes. We may refuse customers who repeatedly abuse our policies — for example, repeated damage or delivery claims, chargebacks or fraud. Those accounts are flagged.

Orders

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, for a full refund, as long as we haven't started processing it. Cancel from your Order Status page or email us right away. Once processing has started, it can't be cancelled.

Can I change my order?

Usually, if you email us within 24 hours of ordering. Once it has shipped, we can’t make changes.

Payment & discounts

Do you take credit cards, or only PayPal?

Both. Cards are processed through PayPal, but you don’t need a PayPal account.

How do I pay by card without a PayPal account?

1. At checkout, click “Pay now”. A PayPal window will open.

2. Choose “Pay with Debit or Credit Card”.

3. Enter your card details and turn OFF “Save info & create your PayPal account”.

4. Fill in your card details and choose “No” (on mobile, slide to “No”) when asked to create a PayPal account.

Don't see the card option? PayPal doesn't offer guest checkout in every country. If it's not available where you are, you'll need a free PayPal account to complete your order.
